harmonized with industry-wide standards and experience, our courses are designed to give you
the knowledge and tools necessary for creating a safer and more efficient work environment.

Overview
Bureau of Dangerous Goods training courses are taught by recognized professionals who emphasize
safety and compliance with the regulations. Students participating in standard training courses, on-site corporate courses, or
customized courses will come away with practical working skills and up-to-the-minute information required to help make
sound, cost-effective decisions.

1-Day Infectious & Diagnostic Seminar
Each one-day session will be held in Cranbury, New Jersey and will be packed with comprehensive information
including training requirements from IATA section 1.5 and U.S. Title 49 CFR §172.700. This seminar emphasizes
the necessary activities that must be addressed when preparing a hazardous material for shipment as it relates
to infectious substances and diagnostic specimens. This seminar also covers shipments containing UN 1845, Dry Ice.

General Course Description
This seminar is designed for:
Doctors, nurses, and other medical professionals; laboratory technicians; veterinarians. Those who prepare infectious substances
and diagnostic specimens for transportation, select packaging and packages infectious substances and diagnostic specimens,
completes a shipper's declaration or other paperwork associated with the transport of infectious substances and diagnostic
specimens; loads, unloads or handles hazardous materials, including infectious substances and diagnostic specimens; or is
responsible for safety of transporting hazardous materials.
The seminar covers the following topics:
- Division 6.2 compliance and regulations
- General awareness/familiarization training
- Function specific training
- Safety training
- Category A Substances
- Category B Substances
- Exempt Human Specimens and Exempt Animal Specimens
- Genetically Modified Organisms
- Class 9, UN 1845, Dry Ice
Upon completion of this seminar, students will be able to:
- Locate and use Title 49 Code of Federal Reguations and IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations
- Properly label and mark hazardous material packages for shipment
- Complete Bill of Lading and Shipper's Declaration for hazardous materials
- Select proper packaging for hazardous materials
- Develop appropriate emergency response information to accompany shipments
