Division 6.2, Infectious Substances
Hazmat University features a specialized online training course for United States domestic and international shippers of Division 6.2 for Infectious Substances and Biological Substances, Category B.
This course ensures students are up to date with the latest changes from IATA/ICAO along with Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations (for U.S. based shippers).
Students will learn how to properly classify, identify, package, mark, label and document shipments of the following materials:
- Category A – UN 2814 and UN 2900,
- Category B – UN 3373,
- Exempt Human Specimens and Exempt Animal Specimens,
- Genetically Modified Organisms – Infectious & Non-Infectious, and
- Class 9 – Dry Ice
Additionally, this course includes training in security awareness required for U.S. shippers (see 49 CFR §172.704(a)(4)) and emergency response procedures for shipments of dangerous goods involving infectious substances.
