General Awareness Video
Product code: GAV-700
We originally produced this 42-minute VHS video as an instructional tool for new employees of companies handling Class Hazard
materials. But we found it's just as vital for companies that don't normally handle such materials...or didn't THINK they do. In
non-technical detail, this video explains each of the 9 United Nations Class Hazards of Dangerous Goods and where (surprisingly) they
might be found in the work place.......
... in restrooms, for example, where you might find corrosives like drain openers.
... in storage closets where toxics like insecticides and pest killers may be found.
... anywhere gasoline, aerosol sprays or other liquid or gas flammables are stored.
These and other Class Hazards must be handled with care, but also must meet strict regulatory requirements for labeling and marking
when transporting. The video explains safe handling as well as required labeling and placarding for compliance with ICAO\IATA and CFR 49
regulations. Plus, it covers emergency response information for Class Hazards as detailed in the NAFTA version of the Emergency Response
Guidebook, a joint effort of the US Department of Transportation., Transport Canada and Mexico's Secretariat of Communications and
Transportation. Available in English or Spanish, the video can be stopped at any point for emphasis. Also included is a 10-question quiz
(in English only) to encourage retention and help make the viewing more instructive.
